New polychromatic roof coatings deliver color in motion, while offering superior protection, durability and energy-saving capabilities for modern sustainable architecture.
Autodeposition is faster and more environmentally responsible than conventional coating processes; however, a typical seven-stage autodeposition process still requires several cleaning stages. Recent advances are pushing autodeposition technology past this boundary to offer manufacturers and coaters a coating solution that lowers the environmental impact even further, while also reducing the overall manufacturing production footprint and increasing efficiency in the assembly process.
No, the headline isn’t a reference to a bestselling tale set in a foreign country and involving an espionage ring. Instead, it has to do with two important, if not intriguing, innovations that will impact readers of Finishing Today.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) salt water ballast tank coatings regulation titled Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) will be effective beginning July 1, 2008, for all ships in excess of 500 gross register tonnage (GRT). This regulation requires rigorous inspection of coating properties, including coating thickness, and it introduces a new performance standard for dry film thickness - the PSPC 90/10 rule. The Elcometer 4563 coating thickness gauge is fully compliant with the new IMO PSPC regulations.
