The newly acquired company’s products are key in the manufacture of liquid abrasives used in automotive polish formulations, precision powders, and slurries used by the optics and photonics industries, and wafers ultimately used by the semi-conductor industry.
The acquisition included AUSA’s 250,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in Barcelona, Spain, approximately 350 team members and access to 200 equipment dealers worldwide.
Tony Thomas, President of Polyrheo USA, said the new site "represents a logical next step towards our strategic goal of becoming a significant chemical manufacturer in the United States with a focus on chemicals used in the CASE market, especially resins."
Upon completion of the acquisition, Industrial Physics customers will have the ability to measure the absolute thickness of coatings down to sub-micron levels more precisely, using advanced technology systems.
