Orion Engineered Carbons is launching SPECIAL BLACK 40 specialty carbon black at Stand 7A-103. SPECIAL BLACK 40 sets a new standard for dispersibility in industrial coatings sector applications. It replaces XPB 412 and is another example of Orion’s investment in emerging technologies and its offerings of innovative solutions to the market.

SPECIAL BLACK 40 is the second of a new generation of specialty carbon blacks for coatings. It follows COLOUR BLACK FW 255, which has set a new benchmark for coloristic performance, high jetness and compatibility with both waterborne and solventborne systems. This dual system compatibility enables customers to reduce their inventories of raw materials.

 Orion Engineered Carbons will continue to roll out new specialty carbon blacks for automotive and industrial applications. In response to requests for improved handling and dispersion properties, the company is introducing the first self-dispersing high-jet specialty carbon black preparation, XPB 430. XPB 430 offers easy dispersibility and dust-free handling.
