A global supermajor energy client in the Gulf of Mexico needed insulation applied to its flowline and riser pipes. This high-pressure, high-temperature project requried the application of a castable thermal insulation coating, designed for subsea pipelines. 

A recently launched thermal insulative coating system from the company earned a Gold Emerging Technology Award for the 2024 Global Tank Storage Awards.

The system is designed to replace many conventional insulation systems in the critical CUI temperature range.

This case study shows how one company offered thermal insulation as a solution to lower the surface temperature, prevent burns, and halt further corrosion of a tank at a lubricant plant.
