The most recent laboratory wing of BYK Additives & Instruments, a division of ALTANA AG, is the first lab building in Germany to receive Platinum status, the highest distinction that the U.S. Green Building Council awards as part of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) has again submitted questions to the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) regarding its LEED 2012 V.4 building rating system revision, including comments focused on process, material credits screening tools and a new verification process added to the most recent draft.
The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) questioned the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) commitment to a consensus-based approach in the development of its LEED rating system and as a result urged the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to not recommend it as the green certification standard for the federal government.
In response to concerns raised by members, core LEED users and stakeholders, and in an effort to provide the marketplace a view of the full LEED program experience prior to ballot, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that it will delay ballot on LEED 2012 until June 1, 2013 (or potentially earlier in 2013 if USGBC members and the market indicate readiness for ballot).
