Nearly
every federal, state and local government that has regulated architectural and
industrial maintenance (AIM) coatings in the past is considering further
reductions.
The FSCT announced that Gordon P. Bierwagen,
professor, Department of Coatings and Polymeric Materials at North Dakota State
University, Fargo, N.D., will deliver the prestigious FSCT 2007 Joseph J.
Mattiello Memorial Lecture.
ASTM
International will hold a symposium on Wear and Friction Test Methods for
Coatings and Surface Treatments on June 21, 2007, at the Loews Miami Beach
Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla.
L.E. (Skip) Scriven, Regents Professor of Chemical Engineering &
Materials Science at the University of Minnesota, is the winner of the 2007 Roy
W. Tess Award in Coatings.
The
Center for the Polyurethanes Industry has
issued a call for entries for the 2007 Polyurethane “Innovation Award”
nominations and also has changed this year’s award program’s three categories
to Polyurethane Chemicals, Processing Equipment and Finished Product.
A
new venture, formed by a special licensing agreement signed with Rutgers
University, has been launched to commercialize and market a green technology
being developed by Rutgers’ Center for Advanced Materials via Immiscible
Polymer Processing (AMIPP).
The 10th International Coatings for Plastics
Symposium, hosted by Paint & Coatings Industry magazine, will be
