Tahereh (Neda) Hayeri received the honor for her paper, “Thermally, UV, and Moisture Curable Novel Family of Versatile Oligomers,” coauthored by Dr. Vijay M. Mannari, professor of polymers and coatings at Eastern Michigan University’s School of Engineering Technology.

Each year, potable water tanks of all varieties from across the United States and Canada are narrowed down to determine the most impressive coatings projects in the water tank industry.

The company is celebrating Jacqueline Means for her work promoting careers in science, technology, engineering, and math, and the impact on young girls and minorities through the Wilmington Urban STEM Initiative.

Covestro’s THINC³⁰ program was honored with a Sustainability Award for social responsibility and community engagement.

The award acknowledges the company’s commitment to sustainability within its operations as well as its leadership in fostering sustainable practices across various sectors.

The BCF Silver Medal was instigated by Leslie Silver OBE, founder of Silver Paint and Lacquer, upon his retirement in 1980. The Silver Medal recognizes those who provide outstanding service and an exceptional contribution to the paints coatings, printing ink, and wallcovering industries’ growth and reputation.

The Powder Coating Institute/Gema Scholarship recognizes aspiring students whom display a strong work ethic and are interested in leveraging their intelligence and curiosity to move our industry forward.

The award was presented at the Ringier Coating Summit 2023 in Shanghai in late May.

Held at Espaço Vila dos Ipês, in São Paulo, the “Oscars" of the Brazilian paint sector, as it is fondly known, was presented by master of ceremony, Juliana Franceschi and the CEO of Paint & Pintura, Agnelo De Barros Neto.
