Designed with sustainability in mind, optiFLEX THIN ecoFOCUS is a line of down-gauged versions of the company’s other optiFLEX ecoFOCUS products. The white and silver BOPP products and both PE products are the first thin products on the market to be recognized by the APR.
SUSBINCO, which Teknos is a part of, is a research project based on the search for sustainable and safe alternatives to current fossil-based binders and coatings. The project was launched in response to the coating industry's need to replace fossil-based raw materials, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The companies intend to make the creation of sustainable packaging and consumer goods solutions as accessible and simplified as possible for all stakeholders along the value chain. This includes access to in-house testing and certification, joint material science R&D, as well as consultation on sustainable packaging design.
At two trade events in October, Henkel and Siegwerk will showcase the results of the companies’ collaboration on an oxygen barrier coating for food packaging.
