The company received the certification at its PO/PG and polyols manufacturing site in Freeport, Texas, recognizing the implementation of decoupling fossil feedstocks by using waste-sourced feedstock.
Polycaprolactone (PCL) polyols can be used to enhance coatings that feature other polymer chemistries in both 1K and 2K coatings. This article explores the performance benefits achieved when low-molecular-weight PCL tri- and tetra-functional polyols are blended with other hydroxyl-functional polymers in 2K coatings.
Two of the more common 2K coatings systems are polyurethane and epoxy. This and next month’s Formulating with Mike column will concentrate on urethanes, with this issue focusing on polyurethane polymers.
Cast elastomers based on PDO-sebacate polyol exhibit an excellent combination of tensile properties, abrasion resistance, thermal, hydrolytic, and solvent resistance, as well as adhesion to metal substrates. These are desirable properties for cast elastomers intended for applications as protective coatings for pipes, and coatings for sieves typically used in drilling and mining applications.
A more sustainable industry requires the discovery and utilization of new raw materials and technologies, presenting an opportunity to develop products with unique properties not previously explored in the additives sector.
All Perstorp’s pro-environment products are produced based on a traceable mass-balance system, using sustainable raw materials, and carrying the ISCC PLUS certification.
EMEROX® renewable polyester polyols are excellent raw materials for use in the manufacture of coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers for applications including siding, carpet adhesive, floor cement coating, and shoe soles.
