MASSILLON, OH – Pro-Spray Automotive Finishes teamed up with The Custom Shop for its SEMA 2014 exhibit. The 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, known as the Copper Topless, was on display at the Pro-Spray booth.
The Custom Shop, located in Flanagan, IL, is known for its quality and craftsmanship when it comes to car customization. Designer and builder John Wargo has quite an eye for style as witnessed in his latest project, Copper Topless. The ’62 Corvette Roadster was a “barn find,” located on the second story of a barn scattered in pieces. After three years, the vehicle was finally completed with the following modifications: Chevy Big Block 598-cubic-inch motor with Vortech supercharger, dual side scoops, motorized hood and trunk lid, two-tone custom interior, Cray wheels, rear view cameras, and a unique paint job.
From start to finish, the Copper Topless features Pro-Spray primer, sealer, basecoat and clearcoat. The color that Wargo chose was Mango Tango Copper with ice pearl that fades five colors from top to bottom. The detail continues with flames airbrushed on both sides of the vehicle.
According to John Wargo, owner of The Custom Shop, “I’ve been custom painting for 26 years and have used almost every brand of paint available. Pro-Spray has helped take my projects above and beyond what I ever imagined. The colors are extremely vibrant, and the clearcoats make my custom paint jobs stand out at the highest levels.”
