SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA - The Polymers and Coatings Program at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, will offer a Polymers and Coatings Introductory Short Course during the week of February 2-6, 2015. The one-week course will cover many aspects of coating and polymer technologies including resin chemistry, pigments and fillers, nanoparticles, additives, coating application aspects, and rheology with emphasis on liquid coatings. The short course will bring together a mix of academic and industrial experts in the field to ensure both fundamental and application aspects are addressed with equal emphasis.

Other coatings technologies (e.g. UV coatings) will be discussed in order to compare and contrast with traditional liquid coatings. In addition, participants will benefit from discussions of VOC and air quality aspects of coatings by experts in both industry and government regulatory agencies. Participants are expected to have some exposure to the coatings field along with working knowledge in chemistry and other sciences.

The early registration deadline for the course is January 11, 2015. Register now at https://regstg.com/Registration/Introduction.aspx?rid=23931d30-0c30-49ce-830d-50406dc3cf37.
