DAVENPORT, IA – Of the many new developments helping to heat up regional and global product packaging production, electron beam (EB) technology offers many benefits. A regional seminar on the technology, “EB Benefits in Packaging,” will provide an overview of EB technology and the impact it is having on the printing, packaging, and converting industries. Targeting flexible packaging producers, label printers, folding carton converters and brand owners, the seminar is taking place in Atlanta on November 11, 2014.
Emphasizing how today’s packagers, materials developers and press manufacturers are adopting their business models to accommodate EB use, the event will cover the financial, sustainability and safety ramifications of using EB technology. This regional seminar is the second of three planned events. An inaugural seminar was held in Milwaukee in September; and a final seminar will occur on January 13, 2015, in Newark, NJ.
Hosted by EB system manufacturer PCT Engineered Systems, the day will feature a number of industry leaders presenting insight on a variety of EB-related package printing topics, including:
- Recent EB Innovations That Are Changing Package Converting,
- Sustainability Benefits of EB Curing in Food Packaging,
- EB Chemistry’s Role in Global Food Packaging Safety,
- Ink and Coating Evolution To Accommodate EB Curing
- EB Printing Press Design Considerations, and
- Putting It All Together: A Customer Case Study in Implementing EB.
The cost to participate is $295 per person (until November 3, when the price goes up to $395), which includes all seminar and presentation materials, lunch, and an on-site networking reception following the seminar.
