PARIS – Protex International announced two acquisitions that strengthen the company’s position in the specialty additives and electronic chemistry industries.
The company has acquired U.S.-based Chartwell International Inc., a producer of adhesion promoters for the coatings, adhesives, abrasives, inks, plastics and rubber industries. Chartwell facilities will be transferred to an existing Protex International production unit in Massachusetts. Protex International subsidiary Synthron will increase production capacity at its Auzouer-en-Touraine production unit, making Chartwell products for the European market. Both Synthron and Chartwell will retain separate centers and facilities for research and development.
Protex International has also acquired Mereco Technologies Group Inc., West Warwick, RI. Mereco produces epoxy, urethane, silicone, UV curable and solar cell manufacturing materials.
