WASHINGTON, DC – For the 11th year, the Polyurethanes Technical Conference will offer attendees a lineup of education and training opportunities with the Polyurethane Professional Development Program (PDP). Hosted by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council, the conference will take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas on September 22-24.
Available to registered conference attendees, CPI’s eight PDP courses are taught by subject matter experts. Courses begin on Sunday, September 21, one day ahead of the official conference opening, and run through Tuesday, September 23. While onsite PDP registration is available, attendees interested in participating are encouraged to secure their spots early since these courses fill quickly.
Courses offered in 2014 include:
- PU 101: Introduction to Polyurethane Chemistry;
- PU 102: Introduction to Polyurethane Technology;
- PU 103: Polyurethane Markets and Applications;
- PU 104A: Polyurethane Adhesives and Sealants;
- PU 104B: Polyurethane Coatings and Elastomers;
- PU 105: Polyurethane Processing Equipment;
- PU 201: Polyurethane Raw Materials, Testing, Specifications and Performance: The Myth and the Magic; and
- PU 204: Physical Testing of Polyurethane Foams.
This extensive range of courses provides topics of interest to non-technical and technical professionals alike. PU 101, PU 102 and PU 103 will interest an industry newcomer who desires a comprehensive overview of polyurethane chemistry, chemical ingredients and machinery, and end-products and markets. Similarly, PU 104A and B appeal to those who work in specialized polyurethane fields, such as coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers. PU 105 provides an overview of the machinery and engineering behind creating polyurethane products. The courses PU 201 and PU 204 will appeal to attendees with advanced technical backgrounds, as these courses feature intermediate and advanced topics. PU 201 presents a detailed examination of polyurethane chemical interactions and machinery, while PU 204 covers testing methods for different types of foam products.
