PITTSBURGH – PPG Industries has renewed or updated 17 American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) registered programs covering architectural coatings, glass and paint.
Six of the PPG course offerings focus on sustainability and their participants are eligible for Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) credit. They include: Cool Coatings for Metal Roofing; Glass Production, Processing and Performance; How Low-E Coatings Improve Building Performance; Protecting Surfaces from Corrosion; Paint Specification and the Effects of Green Building; and What Makes Paint Sustainable: VOCs and Beyond.
Architects can take four courses online at Hanley Wood University: Architectural Applications for Liquid and Powder Fluoropolymer Coatings; Cool Coatings for Metal Roofing; Glass Production, Processing and Performance; and How Low-E Coatings Improve Building Performance. The last two also are offered at AECDaily. Links for all can be found at www.ppgideascapes.com.
All 17 AIA/CES registered programs are available as classroom courses taught by PPG representatives. Instruction lasts about one hour and can be scheduled at a time and place selected by the architectural firm. Each course earns participants one AIA/CES learning unit, and there is no cost to register.
