LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany - BASF announced plans to strengthen its production site at Mortara, Italy, by optimizing the production network for its photoinitiator business. Through investing in the Mortara site and making efficient use of its existing production capacity, BASF intends to relocate parts of its photoinitiator production from its Ludwigshafen site in Germany to Mortara.
The changes are intended to increase the competitiveness of photoinitiator production at the company’s Mortara site and show BASF’s commitment to its photoinitiator business.
BASF has built a leading position in the UV coatings and inks market, with a strong portfolio of photoinitiators, light stabilizers and UV resins supported by solid technical service. Photoinitiators speed up the drying process for UV-curable coatings, inks and adhesives by triggering chemical reactions upon exposure to UV light.
