SHANGHAI - Paint manufacturer Nippon Paint China recently announced its acquisition of the Opel brand from DGL Camel. The purchase, slated for January 15, 2014, includes the Opel Brand, its patents and distribution network.

Opel Paint's wood coating products, which have a reputation for quality, have held a leading position in the Shanghai market. The company's product line is sold in over 400 cities throughout China.

"By the first quarter of 2014, Opel will be fully integrated with our Nippon Paint China operations and will bring our customers a larger range of high-quality products," said Eric Chung, President of Nippon Paint China at the signing ceremony.  "Meanwhile, the Opel Brand will maintain its independence in the market place, and we intend to meet and satisfy the various needs of consumers and those within the coating industry," he added.
