PHILADELPHIA – Dr. Fred Allen has joined Axalta Coating Systems as Global Technology Director for its powder coatings business. In this newly created role, Allen will focus on developing and implementing global strategies for powder technology to meet customer needs worldwide.

Allen holds 17 patents and has published over 20 technical publications about materials and coatings. He has received industry recognition for his work on advanced catalytic materials, functional coatings and electrochemical systems. He comes to Axalta from NEI Corp. where he led the Corrosion Technologies group. Allen will be based in Houston.
