LONDON - The British Coatings Federation (BCF) in a new collaboration with the Vincentz Network, publishers of European Coatings Journal, announced the opening of a major new training initiative for the global coatings industry and its supply chain, called The Coatings Training Institute. The new website, www.thecoatingsinstitute.com, went live on November 1.

The Coatings Training Institute is an update of the original BCF training modules and is an excellent distance learning tool for anyone who needs to know more about coatings technology. It is suitable for professionals directly involved in coatings formulation and manufacture, as well as suppliers to the industry and users of coatings products. Sales people, customer service staff, managers, laboratory employees, quality control technicians and production staff will all benefit.

More than 60 modules are offered at four levels of difficulty. Students can pick and choose the modules that best meet their needs. The wide range of modules extends from paint and ink application, manufacture and evaluation of coatings, ink technology and formulation, and pigments and other raw materials.

Students can study at their own pace, with the added benefit of direct contact with qualified BCF tutors. After the successful completion of six modules, participants will receive the International Certificate in Coatings Technology.
