CLEVELAND - Mexico’s competition authority has again rejected Sherwin-Williams’ bid to acquire Mexican paint company Consorcio Comex S.A. de C.V. The Federal Economic Competition Commission of Mexico informed Sherwin-Williams on October 29 that its appeal relating to the company’s pending acquisition of Consorcio Comex was denied, and the acquisition is not authorized.
In a statement regarding the decision, Sherwin-Williams stated, “The company is currently reviewing the commission’s decision and is considering all options, including whether to re-file with the commission.”
