MONTVALE, NJ - For the second time in just over a year, Benjamin Moore, Montvale, NJ, is looking for a new CEO. In a press release on Friday, the Berkshire Hathaway-owned paint and coating manufacturer announced that CEO Robert S. Merritt has left the company. Merritt took over the post of CEO in July 2012, replacing Denis Abrams, who was dismissed after leading the company for seven years.
The company offered no explanation for the CEO’s ouster. Merritt had worked turning around Outback Steakhouse Inc. before his appointment as CEO of Benjamin Moore.
Benjamin Moore said in the press release that the company expects to name a new CEO in the coming week.
