CHARLESTON, SC - Several leading suppliers of UV coatings and process equipment will host a special two-day technical conference focused on industrial applications for UV technology. The uvTechDays event will be held in Charleston, SC, September 16-17, 2013.

“The two-day format will provide attendees with the best of both worlds,” says Joe Ooten, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for IST America, the U.S. subsidiary of IST Metz, a supplier of UV curing equipment. “Day one offers technical lectures by experts on all phases of UV, and the second day is a hands-on laboratory session filled with practical advice.” The laboratory sessions will be held at the nearby Mankiewicz technical center.

IST partnered with global coatings manufacturer Mankiewicz Coatings LLC to organize the event, which also includes topical presentations by VTD, a manufacturer of PVD metallization systems, Sprimag automated coatings systems, and Gulfstream Aerospace.

“Our existing U.S. customers are showing more interest in looking at UV cure due to the technology’s performance and economic advantages. This conference is the first of our planned efforts with IST and other partners to introduce the U.S. market to developments in UV formulation for industrial applications,” said Peter Dietz, Managing Director of Mankiewicz Coatings, LLC.
