Arkema Coating Resins Wins European Coatings Award

The best scientific paper at this year’s European Coatings Congress was awarded the European Coatings Award 2013 during Monday’s Plenary Session. The winning presentation is titled A New Way to Ensure Metal Protection with Waterborne Dispersions, by Dr. Grégory Delmas of Arkema Coating Resins, France. Co-authors were Isabelle Bétremieux, Alain Boone and Claire Chambat.
Arkema has developed a new waterborne acrylic technology that provides by itself a very high protection to corrosion and good adhesion on a large variety of substrates under harsh conditions. This new technology can be used as a single direct-to-metal system, thus eliminating the typical two-coat process.
The presentation was given in Session 10: Protective Coatings, on Monday afternoon.
