The Perstorp Group is presenting its flagship sustainable solutions for coatings applications at Stand 7A-623. New, innovative raw materials for the coating and resin industry, with focus on novel waterborne and high-solids PU solutions, UV-curing solutions and renewables, are featured.
“Perstorp’s sustainable coating technologies follow two clear strategies. We want to increase the availability of renewable coating products and also reduce/remove the use of solvents and toxic ingredients. These strategies are both designed to give our customers a real environmental choice without compromising performance and incurring major infrastructure costs on the way, whether improving an existing, or establishing a new coating process.” says Bo Häggman, Director Market Development.
Perstorp’s Capa™ is a world leader in caprolactone in terms of volume and performance. Capacity has been doubled to meet the growing demands for caprolactone technology in coatings and plastics, and to fulfill a raft of new innovative developments. Research cooperation with CTC Groupe, a worldwide expert in footwear and leather, has led to novel caprolactone-based PUD topcoats for leather that is being demonstrated at ECS. Other caprolactone developments include high-performance 2K-PU and amino-cured for high-end applications within marine, aerospace and wind power.
Voxtar™ is the world’s first renewable pentaerythritol. It is an excellent example of a successful replacement for fossil-based raw materials in the existing process. Voxtar gives customers the opportunity to directly reduce their carbon footprint by up to 75% without reducing performance. Demand has led Perstorp to broaden the Voxtar offering, which is being presented in full at ECS.
Perstorp is also showcasing and demonstrating on-stand the benefit of non-ionically stabilized PUDs for waterborne resins using its Ymer™ technology. The Ymer resin dispersion technology provides excellent performance characteristics that promote long-lasting durability to provide a really robust sustainable solution. This environmentally friendly technology facilitates solvent-free PUDs and enables further reductions in emissions.
Perstorp experts and specialists in industrial coatings, UV curing and PUDs will be available throughout the show to answer questions. Several key presentations will be given, including technical results for the company’s latest coating innovations.
“ECS is a great opportunity to show our focus on sustainable coatings solutions. It is about achieving low environmental impact through everything we do. This means contributing to more energy-efficient systems in production and facilitating longer-lasting end-product performance, as well as delivering on renewables and replacement solutions for harmful solvents and toxic materials. This is becoming a clear competitive advantage for us in an increasingly environmentally concerned world. We see our sustainable approach as a winning formula for all,” Häggman concludes.
