SOUTHFIELD, MI – With a design that features clearly contoured shapes and blue special-effect paint from BASF, Volkswagen recently presented its next generation of SUV – the CrossBlue concept – at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Volkswagen specially designed the concept for the United States and Canada.

The exterior appearance of the midsize CrossBlue, which seats six, is characterized by a blue, very fine pearl color, which captivates viewers with its soft impression. The finish harmonizes with the alloy rims and the array of stainless steel applications on the body.

BASF’s Color Management Team in Würzburg, Germany, specially developed the color in close collaboration with Volkswagen.

For years, BASF has been Volkswagen’s coatings partner worldwide, supplying products ranging from e-coat to clearcoat.
