MUTTENZ, Switzerland - Specialty chemicals group Clariant, Muttenz, Switzerland, has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 40 percent share of a joint venture between the holding company Alvigo AS, based in Tallin, Estonia, and Süd-Chemie AG, which had been previously acquired by Clariant AG. The Ukraine-based joint venture, Süd-Chemie Alvigo Catalysts GmbH (SCAC), is a leading producer of syngas catalyst.

The signing of the transaction took place at the end of June. Closing is subject to merger control approval. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
