DUBAI, UAE - Jotun Paints has launched Colour Trends Volume III 2012, a color palette created by Jotun Colour Ambassadors, a group of design professionals from the Middle East and North African (MENA) region, that is customized to suit homes in the Middle East.
“Colour Trends Volume III, with the theme Be Home, aims to inspire consumers to appreciate more of what they have and how easy and practical it is to give a new look to their home. They will experience the joy of being rejuvenated and refreshed, which is exactly what the Be Home theme is all about,” explained Maricor L Cruz, Regional Designer - MENA, Jotun Paints.
Be Home covers three new color trends: Beauty, Arabian and Cruising. The Beauty trend has a soft, very feminine palette and aims to beautify with colors ranging from deep purple Jamila, warm shades of Flamingo, Morjan and Tabeeia, and soft colors such as Khajal, Nouma, Cotton Ball and Aneeqa. The Arabian trend focuses on the things and colors that are unique in the MENA region – dunes, honey and potteries – and offers colors such as Aasal, Qarmedi, Ramli, Ghoroub, Mohair, Naft, Kuthban and Lolo. The Cruising color palette highlights the soothing effect of blues and whites with the colors Amwaj, Shiraa, Safaa, Tohlob, Asdaf, Moheet, Bahr and Maa.
The third volume of Jotun Colour Trends is a result of the recent Colour Trends workshop. Jotun Colour Ambassadors identified and developed the new range of colors based on key factors like design trends in interior, architecture, home accessories, fashion, current events, culture and tradition in the region. The group collaborated and came up with the trend forecasts for 2012-2013, which includes the Be Home trends.
“Our region is beautiful and very unique compared to the rest of the world. These in return reflects different moods and color palettes we have. We cannot just adapt colors that are coming from Europe, for example, because it doesn’t reflect who and what we are. We needed to create a palette that suits us,” added Cruz.
