INDIANAPOLIS - Dr. Jamil Baghdachi, Director of the Coatings Research Institute at Eastern Michigan University, received the Industry Excellence Award. The ACA Industry Excellence Award recognizes individuals who have given many years of service to the industry, during which they have served the association and industry through significant technical contributions and/or participation on ACA Issue Management Committees. Baghdachi received the award during the 125th Anniversary Reception and Dinner. Baghdachi has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of polymers, coatings, adhesives, paints and composites, and has consulted for national and international firms and organizations, as well as the U.S. Army, Air Force and Coast Guard bases on polymeric materials, coatings, paints, corrosion control, applications, processes and product durability. A member of ACA’s Science and Technology Committee, he has served as Chair of its Education Subcommittee since 2009, advising and organizing educational events such as CoatingsTech Conferences, AC Series and Virtual Learning Courses.
