CLEVELAND - NSL Analytical Services Inc., Cleveland, announced that its metallurgical laboratory division, NSL Central Testing LLC, has been recertified as a Materials Testing Laboratory by Nadcap, a worldwide cooperative program that designates a reliable supply base for the global aerospace industry. Central Testing was first certified in 2004 and has been recertified every year since. 

The scope includes mechanical testing, hardness testing, micro-hardness testing and metallography. Mechanical tests included in the scope include room-temperature tensile, elevated-temperature tensile, stress rupture, impact and bend testing. Hardness tests comprise Brinell and Rockwell, as well as microhardness and metallography, including near-surface examinations. 

Originally called the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, Nadcap is operated by Performance Review Institute, which was founded in 1990 by the Society of Automotive Engineers, now known as SAE International. Nadcap is an industry-managed, consensus approach to OEM oversight of special process, product and service providers. Nadcap is now an integral part of the supplier management system database for almost all of the world's aerospace manufacturers.
