WASHINGTON, DC — Robert Taylor, President of AkzoNobel’s North American Decorative Paints business, has been nominated to the American Coatings Association’s (ACA) Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Taylor will serve a three-year term ending in April 2015.
ACA is a non-profit trade association representing paint and coatings manufacturers, raw materials suppliers, distributors, and technical professionals. ACA’s Board of Directors considers the affairs of the association and of the industry and makes recommendations to the ACA Executive Committee, the association’s decision-making body in matters of policy and finance. The Board of Directors contemplates programs to foster the advancement of coatings science and technology, trade, business, and financial interests of association members.
Taylor’s career in coatings spans nearly four decades, the first half of which was with AkzoNobel in various research, product development, marketing and operations roles with a focus on Asia. He re-joined AkzoNobel in 2006 as President of the Global Industrial Finishes Business Unit located in China, and most recently served as President of the Global Marine & Protective Coatings Business Unit based in London.
