The CoatOSil MP pretreatment system for metal substrates from Momentive Performance Materials can enhance paint adhesion to metal substrates while providing enhanced corrosion protection. The two-component aqueous pretreatment system can be used with aluminum, cold rolled steel and hot-dip galvanized steel substrates. A water-based nanoscale pretreatment technology, it is produced without chromium and phosphate.
This product and other silicone-based coatings solutions are being showcased at the American Coatings Show (ACS), June 3-5 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. Other materials on display at the Momentive booth include a variety of additives from the CoatOSil family of products. These include new CoatOSil 1220 and CoatOSil 1221 silicone surfactants for improved flow, leveling and wetting in coating formulations; and CoatOSil 2287 silane for enhancement of the physical properties of waterborne latexes.
