The Magni Group, Inc., Birmingham, MI, which develops, manufactures and applies engineered protective coatings to metal products, has expanded to three additional facilities operating in Tennessee, Japan and China.

The Magni Group, Inc. Depor Industries-Portland, in Tennessee, began operating in November 2007 to support the increasing demand for Magni chrome-free coatings. The 54,000 sq. ft facility is strategically located to serve central U.S. markets surrounding Nashville with Magni coating systems such as the Magni 565 and Magni 567. The facility houses three paint lines and offers testing capabilities from its laboratory.

Magni Japan Inc.’s office opened in Yokohama in December 2007 to offer sales, marketing and technical support. The globalization of Japanese auto manufacturers led The Magni Group to open this new office and appoint Masahiro Hasegawa as Managing Director. Hasegawa joins Magni with a wealth of experience in the automotive industry. He will be responsible for coordinating Magni worldwide resources with the global needs of the industry leaders in Japan.

The Magni Group and Gamma Chemical Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) agreed on a joint venture purchase of Guangzhou Olier in October 2007. This addition will further assist Magni's sister metal finishing company, Alpha Tech (Suzhou) with increasing demand for Magni coated products in China. Olier specializes in dip/spin and spray coating of metal components and is located in an industry hub in Southern China.
