Akzo Nobel’s Conrad Keijzer has won a leading Dutch management award that recognizes young corporate talent.

Keijzer, 39, who is general manager of the company’s Automotive Plastic Coatings business, received the prestigious Young Captain Award, an annual honor created by the Bilderberg Group, Interlace Executive Search and Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

“This award is well deserved and illustrates why we attach so much importance to creating a talent factory within our company,” said Akzo Nobel CEO Hans Wijers. “It highlights Conrad’s strong progress as a leader and underlines the growing recognition-both internally and externally-for our dedicated management development programs.”

In making the award, the jury stated that it was particularly impressed with Keijzer’s vision regarding global opportunities for the Netherlands, his passion for knowledge and his enthusiastic approach to innovation and entrepreneurialism.

A senior executive with more than 14 years of experience at Akzo Nobel, Keijzer is currently based in Spain and has completed degrees at Harvard University, Nyenrode and Twente University.
