Effective January 1, 2008, Heidi Alderman will become senior vice president for NAFTA Procurement for BASF Corp. She replaces Richard Carter who will relocate to Ludwigshafen, Germany, to assume responsibility for the newly created BASF Sales Detergents & Cleaners Industry unit. In her new role, Alderman will be responsible for all procurement activities in North America, including energy and commodities procurement, chemicals procurement and technical procurement.
Alderman has more than 25 years of experience in the chemical industry. In her prior assignment, she served as Dispersions business director in the BASF Functional Polymers regional business unit in North America. Before joining BASF in 2003, Alderman held positions in procurement and business management with Rohm & Haas and Air Products & Chemicals.
