Approximately 100 representatives from the surface finishing industry and the Department of Defense (DOD) participated in the third DOD Metal Finishing Workshop held in Utah in May. Plans are underway to organize future workshops and conferences on surface finishing applications.
Approximately 100 representatives from the surface finishing industry and the Department of Defense (DOD) participated in the third DOD Metal Finishing Workshop held in Utah in May. The workshop focused on specific needs, solutions and performance data for replacing hexavalent chromium finishes for military applications. After another successful workshop with collaboration between DOD and the surface finishing industry, plans are underway to organize future workshops and conferences on surface finishing applications for the military depot infrastructure and the defense supply chain for finishing.
