Tinius Olsen, a Horsham, PA-based manufacturer of materials testing machines and software, has created a new blog about testing metals. Earl Ruth, Tinius Olsen’s director of technology, will provide the primary content. He has been with the company since 1984. He is currently on the board of directors of ASTM International and serves on many testing standards committees for both ASTM and ISO.

The site offers technical tips on metals testing subjects, including Charpy impact testing and sample conditioning, and is constantly being updated with new articles and tips based on registrants’ questions and feedback. Site registrants will be able to sign up for Tinius Olsen’s international metals testing seminars scheduled around the world. They will be able to participate in Earl’s blog, submitting metals testing questions and getting expert answers back. Registrants can also sign up to receive technology, company and product updates.
