PPG Industries has named two new vice presidents, effective October 1.
Charles F. Kahle II, director, coatings research and development, has been appointed vice president, coatings research and development. Kahle joined PPG in 1987 as a research associate in coatings after earning his doctorate in organic chemistry at the University of Illinois. He worked in the electrodeposition and central research groups and served as group leader for automotive parts and accessories coatings development. Kahle subsequently held key technical leadership roles in PPG’s chemicals and glass technology centers before assuming his current position as technology leader for coatings in 2004.
Vincent J. Morales, director, investor relations, has been appointed vice president, investor relations. Morales joined PPG in the corporate controller’s office in 1985. Progressive finance and accounting assignments included supervisor, shared services, in Chillicothe, Ohio, and director, information and financial services, at Mt. Zion, Ill. Morales returned to Pittsburgh in PPG’s chemicals controller function and served as director, internal financial reporting, prior to taking on his current position in 2004. He holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Robert Morris University and a master’s of business administration from Ohio State University.
