Dürr Systems GmbH: The EcoRP E32/33 painting robot is designed to facilitate the replacement of older painting machines in existing paint cells. The second-generation robot reportedly simplifies booth modifications and significantly reduces installation and commissioning times. For greenfield installations, shorter booth lengths are possible, combined with reduced investments and energy costs. At DaimlerChrysler in Saltillo, Mexico, for example, two basecoat paint stations with machine technology and a total of 20 atomizers were replaced by the new painting robots. The reduction in the number of atomizers alone resulted in considerable paint and energy savings. The arrangement of the robots that are attached to travelling rails at a height of 1.9 m is especially favorable for painting the pick-up boxes that are part of production and also allows an ideal view into the zone. The plant has been in production since April 2006. E-mailharald.voigtlaender@durr.comor visitwww.durr.com.
