Fusion UV Systems, Inc., based in Gaithersburg, MD, has reported that all of its manufactured products, including its bulbs incorporating small quantities of mercury and other proprietary materials, comply with all state mercury laws, including those states participating in the Interstate Mercury Education and Reductions Clearing House (IMERC). In recognition of the pollution prevention benefits of UV curing, including near zero volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions and reduced hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), and mercury's vital role in this technology, the company's systems are exempt from state legislated schedules to phase out the use of mercury in certain products.

According to David Harbourne, president of Fusion UV Systems, "We are very serious about our environmental stewardship program and apply this concern to every product we manufacture. In addition to the regulatory compliance, Fusion offers at no charge to our customers a unique take-back program that enables us to ensure proper handling and disposal of our bulbs."
