Conductive Ink Used on Land's End Backpacks
A light-curable silver conductive ink developed by Allied PhotoChemical founder Roy C. Krohn is being used for electroluminescent lamp panels in the new Cool Blue backpack by Land's End. The thin lighted strips along the straps and pack blink or glow with a continuous blue light powered by a small rechargeable battery pack. The paper-thin light strips can be woven with fabric and can be washed, folded and crumpled without damage. Allied PhotoChemical supplied the raw materials to Oryon Technologies, which developed the idea for packaging it into wearable lights.
