Arkema, a manufacturer of the technical polymer polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) distributed under the tradename Kynar, intends to increase its production capacity at its Calvert City, KY, facility by more than 2,000 tons a year. The investment is expected to be $12 million. Scheduled for completion in early 2008, this capacity increase will reportedly make Kynar unit production in Calvert City one of the largest PVDF plants in the world, strategically placed to supply both American and Asian markets.
