PPG Industries has named Tom Mauck general manager of protective and marine coatings, a business created with the announcement that the company has reached agreement to acquire the Performance Coatings and Finishes business of Ameron International Corp. Mauck joined the company in 1980 as an accounting trainee in the Cleveland coatings plant and progressed through a series of financial and planning assignments before being named general manager of industrial finishes in 1999 and director of raw materials purchasing in 2002. In his new position, Mauck will report to Rich Alexander, senior vice president, coatings.
