Smitelli, who has more than 20 years of technical sales experience in industries such as transportation, food, manufacturing and utilities, will be responsible for the southeastern U.S., covering Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee.

In addition,Timothy Lederlehas joined Atlas as an authorized technical sales representative for the northwest U.S. region. Based in Bellevue, Wash., Lederle formerly represented ESPEC Corp. as an independent sales representative.
TIGER Drylac Canada Inc. has appointedLarry McNeelyas its new president and chief executive officer. McNeely joined the company in 2005 as vice president Sales and Marketing, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in the powder coating industry in Canada and Europe. His background encompasses management roles ranging from creating new business opportunities, to streamlining operations and heading up sales divisions.
Rohm and Haas Powder Coatingshas appointedJoe Laubenthalits account manager in the Chicago area. Laubenthal joins Rohm and Haas from Nordson, where he spent 17 years developing his expertise in regional sales strategies in the industry as a powder systems specialist for the Powder Systems Group. At Rohm and Haas, Laubenthal will be responsible for growing existing customers and developing new relationships in the powder coatings industry.
Roger L. Shoemaker, president and chief executive officer ofKolene Corp. , has been elected to serve as chairman of the board. He succeeds his late father, Robert H. Shoemaker. Roger Shoemaker has held numerous positions within Kolene since joining the company in 1968. He was named president and CEO in September 1998.
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) has namedMark Tomlinsonexecutive director and general manager. He replaces Nancy Berg, who held the position since February 2000 and resigned last summer after 24 years with SME. Tomlinson joined SME in 2003 as director of Membership with responsibility for Chapter and Technical Activities. In 2005, his responsibilities were expanded after being named managing director of Membership.
