Twin Cities Chapter of Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) and the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP) at the University of Minnesota, are hosting the 6th Minnesota Paint and Powder Coating Expo on Thursday, March 9, at Century College in White Bear Lake, Minn., (near St. Paul).
The Expo will include a vendor show with more than 60 companies, hands-on demonstrations and 10 technical seminars. Virtual reality spray finishing demonstrations will be available throughout the day for attendees to test their spray technique in a virtual paint booth.
Expo presentations will include basics for system design and for surface treatment, case studies on liquid vs. powder coating, new technologies, and increasing capacity with infrared and line density. Look for these specific sessions: Selecting the Right Paint for the Job, Slow Your Rising Fuel Costs, and Steel Making and Defect Identification for Coaters.
In conjunction with the Expo, the Twin Cities Chapter of CCAI will host its annual symposium on March 8 at the Expo location. Lean Manufacturing for the Finishing Industry will be an all-day interactive symposium presented by PDG Consultants, a consulting firm specializing in lean transformation using the tools of the Toyota Production System and kaizen methodology. PDG's experience in the finishing industry allows them to present lean tactics that are specific to your style of finishing.
