X-Rite and Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings are offering two portable handheld spectrophotometers, designed to measure any solid color sample in a matter of seconds. Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings will market both products to its coatings customers worldwide as a flexible, easy to use portable solution under the reference RM400XAK for the tethered model and RM425XAK for the wireless model.

The RM425XAK will be fully supported by Akzo Nobel's Mix2Win software. This application enables the operator to enter and store the instrument's spectral values into a computer. Through its extensive database, the closest colors can be found, and if needed, manipulated to ensure the correct formulation.
