PARSIPPANY NJ - Evonik is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Chapter to aid those residents impacted by the tornado that devastated the Joplin, MO, area on May 22.

Evonik is committed to the safety and wellbeing of its employees. To support employees that were affected, Evonik is providing financial assistance and paid time off to deal with the aftermath.

“While we cannot replace the loss of loved ones, we can in some way help those who are left to rebuild and regain some sense of normalcy,” said Clive Whiteside, President and Site Manager of Evonik’s Jayhawk facility. “About 20 percent of our employees were affected by this disaster, and we will give them the support and time they need to care for their families and rebuild their lives.”

The tornado touched all areas of the community. “The need is so great that everyone is banding together to help. Everyone knows someone affected,” said Whiteside. “Some of our employees have taken in family who lost homes. We continue to work together to rebuild our community.”
