Dr. Richard D. Jenkins, Global Group President, Arkema Coating Resins, delivered this morning’s keynote address at the 2011 Coatings Trends & Technologies conference in Oak Brook, IL. His presentation, titled Coating Resins and Additives – a New Global Perspective, discussed how the coatings market is growing globally, but not uniformly. Growth drivers are different in different areas of the world (environment and performance in mature markets, and population and construction growth in emerging countries). Jenkins stated that effective response to market trends requires balancing global leverage with regional needs. Similarly, some processes are best done at the global level, while others are best done in regions via local resources.
