VANCOUVER, Canada – General Paint, Vancouver, Canada, announced that it is acquiring most of the paint manufacturing and distribution operations of Quebec's Societe Laurentide Inc. The deal integrates the Peinture Laurentide architectural coatings activities in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces into the General Paint brand portfolio.
“After more than three years of close collaboration with Peinture Laurentide’s team for the distribution of its Para and Crown Diamond brands in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, General Paint decided to strengthen its position by becoming the biggest Canadian paint manufacturer with multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities and a solid sale support for its brand portfolio from one ocean to the other,” said Dale Constantinoff, President and General Manager of General Paint.
Both companies share similar cultural values and consider local operations vital for the strength of their businesses. This transaction will allow Quebec-based Peinture Laurentide to maintain a competitive edge in the market, supported by technological expertise at an international level.
