TAMAQUA, PA - U. S. Representative Tim Holden and Pennsylvania House Speaker Keith McCall joined a slate of elected officials, 30-year employees and other honored guests at the Hometown, PA, headquarters of global effect pigment manufacturer Silberline, Tamaqua, PA, to celebrate the family-owned company's 65th anniversary. Hosted by third-generation President and CEO Lisa Jane Scheller, in conjunction with celebrations at the company's facilities in Indiana, Scotland, China, Mexico and Singapore, the 65th anniversary event marked a milestone that drew praise for innovation, community involvement, and a commitment to employees, customers and vendors.
"Silberline has been a vital presence in Pennsylvania and become a worldwide business leader," Speaker McCall read from a letter he presented for Governor Ed Rendell recognizing 65 years of excellence in manufacturing effect pigments for the automotive, plastics, printing inks, packaging and coatings industries. "Your commitment to Schuylkill County, to creating good, family-sustaining jobs is so comforting," added U.S. Representative Tim Holden. State Senator David Argall and State Representative Jerry Knowles expressed their admiration for the company and the Sheller family during presentations for the Pennsylvania Senate and House of Representatives, respectively.
Scheller credited the core values championed by her grandfather, Ernest Scheller Sr., Founder, and by her father, Chairman Ernest Scheller Jr., for establishing the solid foundation required for a company to grow and thrive for 65 years.
"Conducting business with integrity and adhering to a strong moral compass were always hallmarks of the company, and it's an honor to carry on that responsibility," said Sheller. "I look forward to the years ahead, to a new frontier with products that span the entire spectrum of colors that are functional as well as aesthetic, even some not seen by the human eye.”
