MIDLAND, MI - Dow Performance Monomers announced that it will increase the off-schedule price globally for vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), effective Feb. 1, 2010, or as contracts allow. This increase is in addition to the increase effective Jan. 1, 2010.

 

In North America, vinyl acetate monomer increased U.S. $0.05/lb. on Jan. 1, 2010, U.S. $0.04/lb. on Feb. 1, 2010, for a cumulative increase of U.S. $0.09/lb. In Latin America, vinyl acetate monomer increased U.S. $110/MT on Jan. 1, 2010, U.S. $90/MT on Feb. 1, 2010, for a cumulative increase of U.S. $200/MT. In Western Europe, vinyl acetate monomer increased EUR 50/MT EUR as of Jan. 1, 2010, 20/MT as of Feb. 1, 2010, for a cumulative increase of EUR 70/MT. In India, Middle East and Africa vinyl acetate monomer increased U.S. $100/MT as of Jan. 1, 2010, U.S $90/MT as of Feb. 1, 2010, for a cumulative increase of U.S. $190/MT. In the Pacific, vinyl acetate monomer increased U.S. $100/MT as of Jan. 1, 2010, U.S. $90/MT as of Feb. 1, 2010, for a cumulative increase of U.S. $190/MT.
